Donate Christmas to Those in Need – A gift to your neighbour appeal in Espoo

From 13 November onwards until 7 December you can take part in the A Gift for Your Neighbour Christmas Appeal in Espoo Parishes. 

Below you will find the information on how you can take part and donate this Christmas through the Espoo Parishes. Thank you for your gift!  

Esbo svenska församling 

We kindly ask for donations to be a €20 gift card to Tokmanni. Gift-givers can contact Taina Sandberg to arrange a meeting for handing over the gift cards. taina.sandberg@evl.fiLinkki avautuu uudessa välilehdessä, +358 40 547 1856 

Espoo Cathedral Parish 

Give a gift card to a child or a young person from a low-income family. Wishes for gift cards can be collected from Kirkonkymppi, Kirkkokatu 10, Espoo (Mon–Fri 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.), and from the Espoo Cathedral Parish Hall, Kirkkoranta 2, Espoo (Tue–Sun 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). The envelope with the wish includes instructions for returning the gift card.

Espoonlahti Parish 

Purchase a gift card from a shop of your choice. Bring the gift card and the receipt in a pre-numbered envelope and drop it into the mailbox located in the lobby of Soukka Chapel or in the lobby of Espoonlahti Church by Sunday 7 December. The Diaconal  team will deliver the gifts.  
 
Opening hours are as follows: 

  • Espoonlahti Church, Kipparinkatu 8: Mon–Thu 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturdays depending on activities, Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
  • Soukka Chapel, Soukankuja 3: Mon–Tue 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesdays depending on activities, Thu–Fri 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sat–Sun and holidays depending on activities.

Leppävaara Parish 

The Gift for Your Neighbour campaign runs from 13 Nov to 7 Dec at Leppävaara Church, Veräjäkallionkatu 2. The church is open Mon–Fri 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Brighten someone’s Christmas by picking up an envelope from the church, which contains instructions and contact details, and donating a gift card of your chosen value. The Diaconal team will deliver the gift.

Olari Parish 

You can bring the gift cards to Chapple and give them to the staff at Chapple, who will pass them on to the relevant staff delivering the gift cards. Diaconal workers will distribute the cards during client meetings in December.

Tapiola Parish 

You can pick the wish of a gift recipient from the church Christmas tree to help personalise your gift card. Ask the Church staff or diaconal workers for more information.
